On or Off Campus Housing?

Making the decision to live either on campus or off is a tough one. Many colleges require that freshmen live on campus their first year. After that, they offer the option of moving off campus. There are many advantages to both living arrangements.

On-campus Housing Advantages

  • Easy to make friends
  • Close to classes and school facilities (ex. library, gym, cafeteria)
  • No commute or early morning traffic
  • Easier to be involved with school related activities

On-campus Housing Disadvantages

  • Loud partying late at night
  • Sharing a bathroom with your dorm or suite mates
  • Less privacy with a roommate
  • Smaller living quarters
