  • RegisterAffordable Care Act: What Small Employers Need to Know

    Beginning January 1, 2015, employers are required to comply with the Employer Shared Responsibility requirements in the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Small employers will not be subject to the same tax penalties as large employers but must still comply with many of the same requirements. This webinar will provide an overview of these requirements including the Small Business Health Insurance Tax Credit, Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP), counting full-time and full-time equivalent employees, IRS control group rules, minimum value and affordability requirements, and strategies for offering health coverage and other benefits. This webinar includes new guidance from the IRS.

    Beginning in 2014, the Affordable Care Act requires that all individuals to have minimum essential coverage or pay an individual shared responsibility payment. The Marketplace will enable qualified individuals to buy qualified health plans online. In this webinar we will discuss mandate basics, five levels of health coverage (Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Catastrophic), enrollment basics, government subsidies and household income requirements, tax implications, notice of employee coverage options, and special enrollment periods. This webinar will focus on what employers need to know to help their employees access marketplace coverage if an employer does not offer employer-sponsored coverage that meets two federal requirements (60% Minimum Value and 9.5% Affordability).

    Beginning in 2014 the Employer Shared Responsibility provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) defines what a large employer is for purposes of offering health coverage and potential employer shared responsibility payments or penalties. In this webinar we will discuss methods used to determine if you are a large employer including how to count full-time and full-time-equivalent employees, IRS control group rules, and the requirement to offer coverage to full-time employees and their dependents. We will also discuss potential IRS penalties for not offering health coverage to full-time employees or for offering health coverage that does not meet minimum requirements (Minimum Essential Coverage, 60% Minimum Value and 9.5% Affordability). In addition, we will discuss strategies on how to limit your penalties as an employer. This webinar includes new guidance on transition rules from the IRS.

    Beginning in 2014 the Employer Shared Responsibility provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and IRS guidance defines what a full-time, variable-hour, and seasonal employee is under the law. IRS guidance sets standards for tracking employee hours for the purposes of determining if you are a large employer in 2015 and for offering health coverage to full-time employees. In this webinar we will discuss how to group employees into categories and how to measure employee hours using three new time periods (measurement, administrative, and stability) plus how to use the IRS safe-harbor look-back measurement method to help employers determine when to offer health coverage to avoid potential IRS and DOL penalties. This webinar includes new guidance from the IRS.

  • RegisterAffordable Care Act: Employer Reporting & Notification Basics

    Beginning in 2015 the Employer Shared Responsibility provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) IRS Section 6056 requires that all applicable large employers file annual reports detailing information about health coverage offered to full-time employees. In this webinar we will review new IRS tax forms developed specifically for health coverage reporting including new forms 1094-B, 1094-C, 1095-A, 1095-C, 8941, 8962, 8965 and the 1040 series forms. We will also discuss employer notifications to employees concerning health coverage options.
