    14th Annual "Don't Wait" Golf Tournament Raises More Than $40,000 For Cancer Services

    Allegacy Federal Credit Union's 14th annual "Don't Wait" benefit golf tournament held recently at Bermuda Run Country Club in Davie County raised more than $40,000 for Cancer Services, Inc.

    To-date, the tournament has raised more than $670,000 for Cancer Services, which goes directly to breast and ovarian cancer survivors, and women in the community who want to learn prevention and early detection techniques. Cancer Services covers residents in Forsyth, Davie, Stokes, and Yadkin Counties and all services, from financial assistance to medical supplies, special programs, advocacy and more are offered at no charge.   Read more…

    Allegacy Offers Health Insurance Marketplace Assistance

    Prior to the government's health insurance marketplace opening on October 1, Allegacy Business Solutions; a wholly owned subsidiary of Allegacy Federal Credit Union has announced it will offer consumers assistance with the new online healthcare enrollment process.

    Allegacy has a specially trained team of individuals, who will advise consumers on how the new health care reform laws may affect them, provide assistance with enrolling in the online health insurance marketplace and the items needed to complete the application, and begin exploring plan options.   Read more…

    Allegacy Federal Credit Union Opens New Location On Peace Haven Road

    Allegacy Federal Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in North Carolina, opens its new financial center at 1910 Peace Haven Road, Winston-Salem, on Monday, July 15. A grand opening celebration will follow on Saturday, July 27, 2013.

    Allegacy remodeled the former Blockbuster building across from Whitaker Square Shopping Center where its current financial center is located. "We realized our members that utilize that location have a need for a more in-depth, full service location," said Cathy Pace, chief executive officer, Allegacy Federal Credit Union.     Cathy Pace Testifies To Senate Committee About Financial Literacy Education

    Cathy Pace, Allegacy Federal Credit Union's incoming chief executive officer, testified on April 24 before the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions subcommittee in Washington, D.C. about The Economic Importance of Financial Literacy Education for Students.

    Allegacy was selected based on its long-time advocacy and offerings aimed at providing our youth with financial knowledge. In 2008, the credit union established the first student-run high school credit union providing a unique way to develop students' financial and business skills through on-campus branches.       Allegacy Federal Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in North Carolina, will celebrate the one year anniversary of its Financial Center in Wake Forest BioTech Place on April 25, 2013.

      The BioTech location opened last year as Allegacy sold its longtime Fifth Street building to make way for expansion at the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter.       Allegacy Federal Credit Union Names New CEO As Longtime CEO, Ike Keener, Announces Retirement

      After a career spanning 38 years with Allegacy Federal Credit Union, longtime CEO, W.K. "Ike" Keener, announced his retirement today. The organization's board of directors named Cathy Pace, credit union division president, to succeed Keener as chief executive officer.

      Pace will assume the duties of chief executive officer effective May 1, 2013 and Keener's title will become executive advisor. In that new role he will serve as an advisor during the transition period of the new CEO, consult with the board and executive management team on strategic planning and regulatory compliance and assist with board development, governance and succession planning.   Read more…

      Allegacy Federal Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in North Carolina, has opened its new financial center in Wake Forest BioTech Place.

      To make way for expansion at the Piedmont Triad Research Park, Allegacy sold its longtime Fifth Street location earlier this year and officially closed that building in April.       After a career spanning 33 years with Allegacy Federal Credit Union, John Williams, vice president of governmental and community affairs, has announced his retirement. His last day at Allegacy is April 30, 2012.

      The Healthiest Employers award recognizes employers that are committed to creating a healthy workplace.       Allegacy Federal Credit Union recently named seven community leaders to its board of directors.

      Four current board members were re-elected to three-year terms. They include Henry Russ, Jr., Lawrence U. McGee, Tom Adams, and Susan Washabaugh.
