Allegacy considers the safeguarding of your financial information to be among our most important responsibilities.
Recently, Allegacy and other financial institutions were notified by Visa USA that certain Visa® card account information may have been compromised at a third party location. We have identified some of our members as being at risk for unauthorized charges and are taking the proactive and precautionary step of sending them a new Check Card.
It is important for you to know that Visa’s Zero Liability Policy will protect you against any unauthorized purchases.*
If you are one of our members whose account information may have been compromised, you should receive your new Allegacy Check Card within 7-10 business days. You will be able to keep your existing personal identification number (PIN) on the new card. As soon as you receive your new card, please activate it by calling the number on the front of your card and destroying your old card.
You may continue to use your current card until February 12, 2007, at which time the above referenced card will be blocked and will become unusable.
If you have not received your new Check Card by February 8, 2007, please contact us immediately at 336.774.3400/800.782.4670 so that we may extend the time that you may use your current Check Card until your new card arrives.
You can also take steps to protect yourself even further by closely monitoring your account online at allegacyfcu.org and by closely reviewing your monthly statements to ensure they match your records. If you detect any suspicious activity on your account, notify us immediately.
Allegacy takes our obligation to protect the security and privacy of our members very seriously. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. We have a list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website that may help answer some of your questions. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call us at 336.774.3400/800.782.4670.
