Card Activation:
Card Activation is a required
security benefit to Allegacy cardholders, for protection against
fraudulent activity. This program requires primary Visa cardholders
to activate new and reissued cards upon arrival. Activating the
card(s) verifies that you have received your Visa Credit or Check
Card safely. A card activation sticker will be affixed to Visa
cards if activation is necessary.
Fraud Alert Detection:
Fraud Alert Detection is a personalized service that alerts the Visa
Service Center to unusual, possibly fraudulent activity on a Visa
Credit or Check card account. Only Falcon features technology that
offers a detailed profile of each individual cardholder's spending
patterns and transactional behavior. Falcon assesses the risk on
every transaction - even during peak volume periods - and quickly
alerts fraud analysts of possible criminal behavior. When activity
does not fit the profile, the Visa primary cardholder may be contacted
at their home telephone number to confirm the validity of the transaction.
IMPORTANT: YOU WILL NOT BE ASKED TO GIVE YOUR VISA CARD NUMBER OVER
THE PHONE, BUT YOU MAY BE ASKED TO CONFIRM THE EXPIRATION DATE.
3-Digit Code
Is your Visa card in the right
hands? On the back of every Visa card you’ll find
a special 3-digit
code (also called Cardholder Verification
Value or CVV2), designed to provide an additional layer of
Internet and telephone fraud protection. This code helps
to ensure that the customer is actually in possession of
the card.
Continuous Monitoring
Visa has highly sophisticated
fraud-screening
solutions in place designed to flag
suspicious account activity. We work closely with technology companies
and merchants, constantly searching for ways to enhance
these efforts.
